General Job Description:

Responsible for researching and preparing all required course materials for the purchasing process.  This includes maintaining course material documentation according to purchase process, product type, and supplier account specifications, and communicating both internally and externally to problem-solve.


Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, monitor, evaluate, and maintain the accuracy of course material information within a database
  • Determine the best method of purchase for all course materials adopted at accounts
  • Contact suppliers via written and verbal communication in order to garner product information
  • Collaborate with Catalog Specialists to gather and provide needed information between suppliers and accounts
  • Assess potential sourcing issues for adopted course materials and apply multiple problem-solving methods to find viable alternatives
  • Maintain awareness and understand of any important dates and deadlines
  • Complete research for special projects or requests
  • Meet weekly with Course Material Research team to discuss upcoming strategies, review the progress of past week, and problem-solve obstacles of specific tasks

Skills / Qualifications preferred:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and generate alternative solutions
  • Must be able to work well within a team atmosphere
  • Candidate must be organized, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
  • Must be proficient in moderate level computer skills, with a working knowledge of MS Office Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Ability to multitask, assess priorities, give precise attention to detail, and manage competing deadlines
