Role Introduction:

Tree of Life Bookstores and Textbook Butler is a privately held company based out of Indiana. We are transforming the higher education course material delivery industry through innovation, relationships, and educational technology. We believe there is a better way to partner with Institutions than what exists today. Students deserve a better and more affordable experience than they have today! We are always in the pursuit of better.  We are seeking a go-getter Vice President of Sales who is willing to wear different hats as we continue to expand our sales team and market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans and strategies for increasing market share and achieving the company’s sales goals within the independent university market segment
  • Close individual sales targets annually, aligning to cost of sales and margin targets
  • Partner with the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing to determine the right sales infrastructure and inside sales, the strategy needed to achieve growth targets
  • Lead internal sales operations processes and sales support strategies
  • Partner with the operations team to learn the complicated quoting process and develop ways to streamline the process to make it more efficient
  • Expand on the FreshSales CRM, including data, expanding higher education contacts, building email workflows, analytics, and nurturing opportunities
  • Develop a system for replying to and winning Request For Proposals (RFP’s)
  • Provides leadership to the sales organization, and counsel to the Executive Team, in implementing sales organization objectives that appropriately reflect our business goals
  • Partner with the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing and the Vice President of Marketing to continue developing the right marketing strategy
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions
  • Travel for in-person meetings and conferences to develop key relationships and build a sales pipeline

  • Exhibits awareness of best sales practices and methods, with experience in multi-million dollar consultative sales wins
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years selling and leading sales efforts, ideally, some of that experience is in higher education
